Type Locality and Naming

Along the village of Khodzheili, S. Pre-Aral. I.M. Abdurazimov in 1996. Wells. Stratotype - section of the profile well 1 of the village of Hodzheili.

Synonym: Khodzheilinskaya Suite, Ходжеклинская св.


Lithology and Thickness

Gray, greenish-gray sandstones, clays with layers of siltstone (aleurolites), with phosphorite and glauconite. Thickness 40-200m.

Relationships and Distribution

Lower contact

Overlies conformably on the Chimbay Fm

Upper contact

It is overlain transgressively by the Sultanbobin Fm.

Contains marine bivalve mollusks Amphidonte vulgata Vinok., Cymbula gardneri (J. Nikit.); foraminifers Mjatliukaena gaultina (Berth.), Haplophragmoides aff. nonioninoides (Reuss.); complex of spores and pollen - Gleicheniidites carinatus Bolch. (0-1), G. senonicus Ross. (1535), Clavifera tuberosa Bolch. (0-1), C. triplex Bolch. (0-1), Pilosisporites setiferus (Verb.) Shv. (0-1), Inaperturopollenites Dubius (Pot. et Ven.) Tn. et Ph. (17-36).


Age 

Conditionally belongs to the lower + middle Aptian. Used in the legend of the Pre-Aral subseries to geological maps of the 1:200000, 1998 scale.
